About us

Our Mission

Team52 exists to bring people together through physical activity. Team-building, barrier-breaking active challenges that rally your team and improve culture and create shared memories.

Why the name: Team52?

Team: you gather a team - we're better together. 52: there are 52 weeks in a year - and we can do a lot in 52 weeks! We just need to know what we want to do, have the people around to support us and prioritise alongside other things in life.

Where the idea came from:

Team52 was born out of the Exerk 52in52, when Sported, the charity Annie was supporting, asked if they could join the challenges too. Dispersed around the UK, Sported decided to take on 52 challenges in 52 weeks between the 20 people in their company. The success of the Sported 52in52 saw team camaraderie improve, brought wellbeing naturally into workplace culture, and built healthy habits that last to this day, three years on.

Georgie Akin-Smith

Annie Ross

Hi, Iím Georgie and I have a thing for active challenges and the outdoors. I love to cycle, run, sail and everything in between, oh, and Iím a total porridge addict, but more on that later!

In 2017, whilst working full time, I decided to take on 12 challenges in 12 months. I wanted to expand my horizons, get out of my comfort zone and see what I could achieve both mentally and physically. My awesome year of adventure included a cross-country ski marathon, a Tough Mudder, cycling 200 miles around Mallorca, running a marathon, a duathlon and a Christmas Day sea swim to name a few!

I have a passion for inspiring, guiding and supporting people to discover a more adventurous life. If my challenges taught me anything itís that we can all do more than we think. You donít need lots of time, kit, or cash. You just need to grab a bunch of friends and go for it.

Hey hey, I think anyone who has ever met me knows that Iím slightly obsessed with being outdoors and active! Alongside Team52, I lead operations of big sports challenges, write for The Evening Standard, am a Trustee for healthier ageing charity, Silverfit, and an Ambassador to the Museum of London.

Bizarrely, my five-year career at Deutsche Bank laid the foundations for the work I do now. Frustrated with the amount of time spent sitting down, I completed 52 sporting challenges in 52 weeks. It was a bid to get busy people active and over 450 people joined me during the ďExerk 52in52Ē. There were 5km swims, triathlons, hulahooping, rollerblading, tours of outdoor pools, Everest by stairs and other whacky ones Ė youíll find them in Discover Challenges!

I learnt a lot that year Ė how to set goals, why a team is vital to staying on track, and what to say no, to keep space in your diary for bitesized adventure. I pour all that knowledge into Team52 and am excited to share the journey with you!
